Compassion for Pets, NFP does its work through generous volunteers. We currently need volunteers for the following work:
Compassion for Pets takes phone calls on its toll free number from people who want information about pet hospice. Responsibilities include: answering calls or returning messages during the assigned time slots to those people who request information, providing information to the caller about experiences/understanding of pet hospice, making referrals to hospice providers, referring the caller to the Compassion for Pets website and when necessary referring callers to pet loss resources. These volunteers need to be available to take or return phone calls at some point during each day they are scheduled. Volunteers should feel comfortable talking to people they do not know, sharing personal experiences, empathizing with others and referring the caller to other sources of information.
Compassion for Pets creates and distributes written and visual materials to educate pet guardians and veterinarians. Volunteers create the materials, but printing and distribution costs require support from personal donations and other sources. To support these activities, we currently need individuals to help raise funds. Responsibilities may include: researching available grants, writing grant applications, planning and executing fundraising events, planning and delivering mail campaigns. These volunteers should be creative thinkers with good communication and planning skills.
